Taste of Melbourne is back again for 2010 with 14 top Melbourne restaurants and over 90 food and wine exhibitors. The event runs for 6 sessions over 4 days at the Royal Exhibition building at the end of August.

I went last year and loved it! It was a great way to get a sample of a variety of different restaurant’s signature dishes, all under the one roof. The restaurants on offer this year are all new to Taste of Melbourne, so I’m looking forward to trying some new dishes!

I’m excited to see the return of the Australian Gourmet Traveller Chef’s table, where you get up close and personal with your favourite chef, as well as the Australian Gourmet Traveller Taste Kitchen, Wine theatre, Bacardi Lion Sensology ‘Art of Cocktail Making’ and a cheese and beer discovery with National Foods King Island Dairy and James Squire.

Check out the list of restaurants who will be at Taste of Melbourne 2010 here. Make sure you turn up with an empty stomach because there will be a lot of food on offer!

Advance purchase tickets are on sale now through Ticketek for $27.50. To find out more information or to purchase your tickets go to http://www.tastefestivals.com.au/melbourne/.

Thanks to HotHouse Media & Events I have 5 double passes to give away to my readers, valid at any one of the 6 sessions! All you need to do is comment below and tell me which restaurant you are most looking forward to trying at this year’s Taste of Melbourne festival. The competition closes at the end of Monday 16 August 2010 and I will notify the winners on Tuesday 17 August.

If you don’t have blog which lists your email address, please also email me so I can contact you if you are a winner. You can also use your Twitter handle so I can DM you. Good luck!

Over & Out, April xx

I would love to taste the food on offer by Embrasse. It seems they have picked up lots of best new restaurant and young chef awards. I love their philosophy of embracing seasonal produce and simplicity.

I gotta say Stokehouse. Boring, perhaps, but it's been too long! 🙂

I've never gone to Taste Melbourne before so I am looking forward to all restaurants!! I would have to say Charcoal Lane because I like what they are doing as a restaurant and would like to support them.

I reckon I'd try Charcoal Lane.

The idea is worthy of support and the menu looks good! Think I might have the Marron.

Tell me all about all the food you devoured when I'm back. 😉

Would love to try Le Traiteur. I've heard and read so many good things about them that it's definitely a must try.

I have been meaning to visit Embrasse but haven't yet had the pleasure … Taste of Melbourne will be the perfect opportunity to sample dishes from some of Melbourne's best restaurants.

Im looking forward to seeing Esposito in Carlton. As I am planning to get married in the next year I was hoping to maybe hold my wedding reception there, so going along to find out more about these lovely restaurants there may be a different reestaurant that catches my eye.

I definitely want to try Maze even though I'm getting dragged to the restaurant proper in September but at least I can tell my friend from America that I have already sampled the food!

I can't wait to see what surprises Martin Boetz of Longrain has on offer this year. Longrain has the best soft shell crab I've ever eaten!

Hi April, what a great giveaway!

My vote's for Embrasse, I'm drooling over the pork belly dish and the forest floor dessert that they're advertising for their pop-up!

Definitely excited to visit the Maze stand! Apart from being a massive fan of Gordon Ramsay, it would be awesome to taste the food of a celebrity chef with a 3 Michelin star restaurant and subject it to the same kitchen nightmare-esque critique.

I'm most looking forward to Maze… still haven't been yet, so this would be a good chance to try their wares!

Can I first say that I love your blog? I was looking up reviews of Nobu for my birthday, and I found your review incredibly helpful. You were so right about the New Style Sashimi. I thought it was incredible.

Anyway, I would love love love to go to this year's Taste of Melbourne. For the last two years I've been looking at the menus enviously, but I haven't been able to go. I can't wait to go – it just looks so fantastic.

I'm most looking forward to maze and maze grill. I was pretty impressed by Josh Emett on Masterchef. He seems very talented, and a lot less abrasive than Gordon Ramsay. Also, the menu looks perfect. I can't wait to try the passionfruit vacherin.

Can't wait!!!

Hi,

All of them sound wonderful! I am not a 'fan' as such because I am just a poor uni student who survive on limited allowance. I will really appreciate the tickets as an eye-opener experience with my boyfriend who is also a uni student. Thanks

Taste of London in Melbourne town,
Worthy of Michelin crowns?
Gordon Ramsay’s ‘Maze’ wins by far,
There’s fireworks on the plate, not in the vernacular!
